The transparency on the Canadian COVID exposure tracking app is fantastic. It’s using the Apple/Google API and is great on privacy, too.
@misty Out of curiosity, who is assigning the “random” identities in Canada? Here is Switzerland, where the protocol implemented by Apple/Google was actually developed, they were that stupid to outsource to a US tech monster rather than keep this on a small server at EPFL or ETHZ….
@reto The government is running the server. They actually open sourced the server software along with the phone app.
@misty Thank you for the answer. That’s certainly a better solution than the one we have here in Switzerland. Also our phone app code is open source.
