Conferences should not be allowed to sell out your registration email address to every vendor who wants it

@ashley Ugh this happened to me and like 30 vendors emailed me! And 9 months after the conference one called my work number (which had changed) and I got VERY CROSS

@ashley @kassi_grace I've been to conferences where they just give it away to every attendee 👀

@hugh @kassi_grace I've been in an opt-out situation like that, for small conferences. I think that's nice though!

@ashley @kassi_grace I have no issue if it's opt-out and it is easy to opt out, but that's not always the case, and if someone else is registering you they won't necessarily opt you out.

@hugh @kassi_grace Ahhh for me this has only been in a direct email afterwards, for a conference of around 100 people. I think I would want to opt out if I hadn't yet been to the conference and it'd depend on how I felt about it, if I felt I'd want to share that.
