The diggers in this group of photos are Orange or pākākā coloured in Māori. They are engaged in mahi or work on the Mararoa River willow clearance project and in this photo a EX200LC Hitachi digger is in the middle of the river with its boom down in the water, to which are attached some large grabbing jaws. A driver is in the safety caged cab. On the bank behind the digger is a pile of willow logs burning/smouldering with smoke rising and beyond that, green hills with trees along the top. The sky is very grey.

The diggers in this group of photos are Orange or pākākā coloured in Māori. They are engaged in mahi or work on the Mararoa River willow clearance project and in this photo a EX200LC Hitachi digger which is owned by Carran Scott Contracting Co. Ltd., and another smaller one are on the banks of the river in the willows, chomping them down to clear them from the river. There are huge masses of willows behind and around the two diggers. The sky is very grey and the river bank is very stony and rocky.

In front of and beside the diggers are willow logs ripped out lying on the ground and behind the diggers and trees, you can see a little bit of green hills with trees along the top. The sky is very grey.
